IIn 2021, Barbara Whitman established the Barbara Whitman Award at Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF). The award will be given annually to a female, trans, or non-binary early career director. The Barbara Whitman Award recipient will receive an unrestricted award of $10,000 from SDCF.
